The Taiwan Phoenix Project (TPP) is Taiwan's first Digital Health Accelerator, designed to assist startups in biotechnology, AI, blockchain and digital health to thrive and compete in the global market.

The  Phoenix Project is an initiative of the Development Center for Biotechnology (DCB), and is made possible with funding from the Small and Medium Enterprise Administration (SMEA), Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA).

Beginning in 2016, the SMEA began encouraging the transformation of Taiwan’s many incubation centers into accelerators, in order help Taiwan’s start-ups compete at the international level. The Phoenix Project takes over and expands upon the resources of the Nankang Biotechnology Incubation Center (NBIC), aiming to accelerate development in biomedical related fields, and to capitalize on the emerging global trend of digital health.

This project leverages resources from DCB to combine interdisciplinary resources to accelerate the development of start-ups with the goal of winning investment and creating a new generation of successful global enterprises. The project aims to:

  1. Accelerate the generation of start-ups that capitalize on emerging global trends
  2. Create a vibrant startup ecosystem that serves as a deep networking platform for all partners interested in helping startups to grow
  3. Increase investment from all possible avenues
